Still a bit tired but we had a great time. the weather wasn't too good but it didn't stop us. It rained quite a bit and it was freezing cold. When the sun did come out it was glorious.

Seen both the grandchildren since we got back and that was great. ... amazing how much even a 6 year old can change in 2 weeks. He looks to have grown another 2 inches. Our grandaughter now aged 13 months can not only walk but go backwards and forwards on her little bike... I am sure ours were still propped up in the pram at that age.
We love the French version of Noddy... aptly namd 'Oui Oui'.
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-29746546156881044042008-03-31T18:32:00.001+00:002008-03-31T18:32:51.590+00:00Dancing with dolly

Dancing with dolly
Originally uploaded by Jaxpix50
Our grandaughter was one last week. He was a great man. He loved his pipe and a pint and the photo was taken in his favourite pub.. The Red Lion in Colne. Last week we walked up to Coldwell Reservoirs. There is an activity centre there which use to be a pub called the Coldwell Inn. The inn is very old and was a stopping place on the old packhorse route from Colne to Hebden Bridge. This unusual cross was on top so that you could see the cross from any direction.
When the inn fell into disrepair i the cross disappeared and was eventually found in a garden in Nelson. When the Inn was renovated and became the activity centre the cross was placed back in its original place.
A great place to have a brew and a bit of cake or even a meal after walking over the moors.
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-36359273304124022282008-02-07T19:07:00.001+00:002008-02-07T19:07:32.541+00:00Grout paint

Grout paint
Originally uploaded by Jaxpix50
We have been decorating our kitchen and decided to paint the tiles too. After painting them then we decided we needed grout paint too. Off to B n Q once more and bought a grout paint pen. Great...nearly finished... last weekend whilst Steve finished off the walls , tiles etc. I opened the grout pen .... IT WAS BLACK!!! ....Who has black grouting?

It didn't say it was black on the pen itself and as you can see it looks like it's white with the white bar across the middle. As it was more than £5 we took it back to the store. On arriving at B n Q we were told we should have known it was black as the pen cap was black. After a great struggle they let us have our £5 back and we bought some white grout paint... identical, except with a white cap .... the manager eventually agreed it was very misleading. ... we went back to B n Q for something else today and they are still on sale ... wonder how many other people will fall for it too.
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-4713106341271295642008-02-01T19:45:00.001+00:002008-02-01T19:45:27.196+00:00Natural light

Natural light
Originally uploaded by Jaxpix50
Every Wednesday morning I go and get my grandson ready for school as his mum starts work early. Fingers crossed here for that.
Washing machine already on .. ready to put the sheets out tomorrow. How sad is that!!!!

I am sure everyone is just bursting for a bit of sun. What a pity it's a work day... some people will not even see it. Luckily I finish at 11.30...so maybe a little fresh air and sunshine for me.
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-53122449864619560642008-01-28T14:57:00.001+00:002008-01-28T14:57:38.218+00:00What a sweetie!!Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-66026054254969360082008-01-27T21:05:00.001+00:002008-01-27T21:05:35.989+00:00Amaryllis

Amaryllis
Originally uploaded by Jaxpix50
Look at this. I usually drive to work and it's pitch black . This morning i suppose partly because the weather was better i noticed pinky clouds at one side of the sky and as I was almost at college the dawn sky was magnificent with the town buildings silhouetted in front of it. It took my breath away for a moment and made me feel maybe Spring is not that far off. This photo from fellow flickrite Bobby8 seems to say it all.
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-57226680565698334322008-01-21T19:26:00.001+00:002008-01-21T19:26:08.121+00:00Wading Home from School

Wading Home from School
Originally uploaded by borolad259
Water water everywhere. The weather continues to be dreadful. Nearby towns are flooded and everywhere the ground is absolutely saturated. This photo is from flickr photographer Borolad and shows Mytholmroyd flooded this afternoon.
Even for those of us on higher ground it's all becoming very weary.... although obviously it's not as bad as for those flooded out.
How we all long for just a little sunshine so we can get the boots on and get out into the countryside.... how long is it to Spring???
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-79619678707671692582008-01-19T12:33:00.001+00:002008-01-19T12:35:08.880+00:00Standing up baby!!!Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-38226223570741246042008-01-18T22:52:00.001+00:002008-01-18T22:52:40.204+00:00Holiday time

misty reflection
Originally uploaded by Jaxpix50
Back to work after the Christmas break. Had a great time.. but very busy. One thing we really enjoyed was a journey on the Settle to Carlisle Railway. We took Joseph who thought it was wonderful. I sort of made a New Year's Resolution that i would return to blogging but look it's day 18 and this is my first post!!!
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-40773867402936160382007-10-12T21:33:00.000+00:002007-10-12T21:35:33.589+00:006 months on

Growing so quickly!!!Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-79489452676741562802007-03-26T22:03:00.001+00:002007-03-26T22:03:09.523+00:00My dad!

My dad!
Originally uploaded by Jaxpix50.
Our new granddaughter Rebekah arrived a little early a couple of weeks ago. She is now home and doing well after excellent care at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield Uk. She is a real little treasure and I am sure we will all have lots of fun together.
Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15887447.post-794057567914457112007-01-13T22:46:00.000+00:002007-01-13T22:55:25.674+00:00House movingWell we put the house up for sale in november. We sold it immediately as it is a lovely house. however the sale fell through the week before we were due to move. So we spent Christmas sitting on boxes in between showing viewers around. We got a buyer again within a week but we are still allowinig viewers round as it isn't really sold until we exchange contracts (the agent says!).

It is the nicest house we have ever lived in. Lovely views over the garden. We can watch the boats on the canal. We have stained glass and beautiful original fireplaces. The house is on four floors thoguh. We still have a coal fire and the coal is in the cellar... at the moment it's ok but the coal bucket seems to be getting heavier. So time for a move with kids grown up and grandchildren arriving ....
See here for photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/jackiespix/sets/1079714/Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07084995411142060970noreply@blogger.com0
